چکیده

Landslides constitute a critical component of hazard in mountainous regions. With the help of related research results of modern artificial intelligence, the nonlinear dynamic model based on support vector machine is proposed. In order to reflect the displacement evolution rule of rock mass and judge its stability, the nonlinear dynamic model is combined with the nonlinear catastrophe theory. Lyapunov index, as one reliability index of short-term prediction, is calculated by small data volume method involved phase space reconstruction. Then the sufficient and necessary criterion of instability of rock mass system is given, the expression of mutation characteristic value, which expresses the distance between rock mass evolution state and critical state, is provided at the same time. The example shows that the method is high precision and has important practical significance for the monitoring and early warning system of rock mass engineering

Numerical Investigation of dip angle direction of foundation Joint on nonlinear dynamic response of concrete gravity dams

The stability of a gravity dam on a jointed rock foundation might be endangered by weak joints that may be present in the fracture network of the bed rock. A review of the literature shows that there are few studies of the effect of a weak joint in the foundation rock on the stability of dams. This research uses the finite difference numerical modelling software ABAQUS to model a gravity dam, t...

A field investigation of application of digital terrestrial photogrammetry to characterize geometric properties of discontinuities in open-pit slopes

In order to analyze the slope stability in open-pit mines, the structural parameters of rock mass such as persistence and spatial orientation of discontinuities are characterized through field surveys, which involve spending high costs and times as well as posing high risks of rock toppling and rock fall. In the present work, a new application of terrestrial digital photogrammetry is introduced...

Application of Discrete Crack in Nonlinear Dynamic Analysis of Shahid Rajaee Arch Dam

the nonlinear discrete crack modeling of Shahid Rajaee thin arch dam is considered. The interface elements are positioned such that certain potential separated blocks can form possible failure mechanisms. The dynamic stability of theses blocks are investigated by a special finite element program "MAP-73" which its nonlinear algorithm and interface elements formulation are presented.

Analysis of Roll Control System to Eliminate Liquid Sloshing Effect on Lateral Stability of an Articulated Vehicle Carrying Liquid

In this paper, the consequences of filled volume on the transient lateral dynamic and stabilities boundaries displacement of an articulated vehicle carrying liquid is investigated. First, a sixteen-degrees-of-freedom nonlinear dynamic model of an articulated vehicle is developed then, using TruckSim software the model is validated. Next, the dynamic interaction of the fluid cargo with the vehic...

Rock Slope Stability Analysis Using Discrete Element Method

Rock slope stability depends very much on the strength features of the rock and the geometrical and strength characteristics of the discontinuities (e.g., roughness, wall strength and persistence). Since a rock mass is not a continuum, its behavior is dominated by such discontinuities as faults, joints and bedding planes. Also, Rock slope instability is a major hazard for human activities and o...
